TAKURO HASHIMOTO
Preceptor in Japanese
Takuro Hashimoto joined the Japanese Language Program in 2017. He previously taught Japanese as a foreign language at the Department of Japanese Studies in the University of Hong Kong (HKU), the HKU School of Professional And Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), the University of Papua New Guinea, as well as other institutes in Japan.
Takuro’s research focuses on the use of Politeness Theory in the language class to help learners build better relationships across various social situations. His teaching encourages learners to think critically and apply their communication skills even when speaking other languages. He is also interested in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for language education and is currently working on Flipped Learning course design. Takuro has a B.A. in German Language and M.A. in Japanese Language Education from Reitaku University, Japan.
